The Learning Foundation Scholarship  will award outstanding high school graduates who plan to earn a baccalaureate degree from an accredited, four-year college or university with financial assistance. Scholarships are to be utilized at an institution of higher learning and applicants must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award. Applicant must hold a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be enrolled as a full-time student during the fall academic semester. All qualifying areas subject to verification. To be eligible for the Learning Foundation Scholarship:

A) You must be a legal resident of  the state of Texas;

B) You must be 16 years of age or older;

C) You must either be enrolled in a qualified Texas high school;

D) You must hold a 3.0 or higher GPA;

E) Provide one reference letter; and

F) Write a 500 word essay on any of the following topics:

  • Why is attending college so important?
  • ​What do you think we should do about gun control in this country?
  • ​​How would you handle texting and driving?
  • What would you like to contribute to your community, society or family?
  • Describe a time in your life that has shaped who you are as a person.
  • This is what I believe in…
  • How do you define success?
  • What traits do you possess that will enhance your education or future career?
